Nestled in between old neighborhood haunts like The Waverly Inn and Lilac Chocolates, and modern boutiques like Marc Jacobs, this Smorgas location is frequented by artists, celebrities, neighborhood regulars as well as out-of-towners.
A modern mural depicting the Scandinavian landscape, tree sculptures, blue glass bottle lamps and cozy banquettes define the unique style of the restaurant.
The ambiance is quaint but lively. Casual enough for an unplanned weekday meal, and elegant enough for a romantic engagement dinner. Its inviting wrap-around outdoor terrace is open throughout the warmer months. Menu standouts include house-cured gravlaks salmon with mustard sauce, sizzling entrecote steak with citrus herb butter sauce, and traditional Scandinavian vanilla waffles.

Cloudberries taste like heaven. These delicate and sweet berries are a prized ingredient; they are among the most expensive berries in the world.
